Dried Flower Wreaths
Custom and One of a KindDried
flower wreaths are made from plant material called everlastings. Hence the name
of my website. Everlastings were my first love. Customer demand required me to
add silks and artificials to my repetoire, but there is just that something special
about air dried and preserved plant life that calls to some aficianados including
myself. I love to make wreaths, swags and other floral designs from real plant
material. I will color treat the flowers and foliage to resist fading and go to
great lengths to insure long life. Indeed, many wreaths last years and years.

Air Dried Wreaths :Floral
wreaths not only contain flowers, but also foliage, and this foliage is important.
The background foliage sets the basic color tone of the wreath, so you have to
keep that in mind. But you also need to remember the background foliage should
contrast with your wall. You don't want to use dark background foliage on a dark
wall or light on light unless you want the wreath to be unnoticed. So we contrast
with the wall, then go from there with whatever color,style, or darkness you desire. |

2.Preserved Wreaths: This
wreath is made from preserved foliages. It will last forever. Preserved means
that the plant material is made to suck up a solution of water and glycerin, thus
rendering the resulting flower or foliage still flexible. Anything preserved with
glycerin should not be hung where there is high humidity.The glycerin will sweat
and drip down your door or wall. But if the arrangement is indoors in air conditioning
or if the climate is dry year round, preserved plant material is a great choice
for an almost fresh look and longevity too. |

3.
Dried Grass Wreaths :Natural
dried grass wreaths are usually earthy colors, with possible bright accents. They
can be made from sorghum (like this one), wheat, fountain grass, etc. They might
be exclusively grass or be mixed with a few other materials. The feel is very
rustic. This is one style of wreath that looks especially good on rock walls or
on walls of rough cut wood. Of course, they do well on painted walls too. You
want a grass wreath to contrast with the wall color. |
