Horizontal Swags: Noble
fir is ideal for horizontal swags like this one, but they can also be made from
almost any plant material. The challenge is to get a stiff enough base that the
sides don't sag over time. All must have a focal point from which the design ingredients
switch direction and behind which is the hanging loop. Horizontal swags do well
over mirrors, shelves, mantles, and doorways. |

Vertical Swags : Vertical
swags are more properly called sprays. The base branches are attached together
at the top, which becomes the focal point and everything (foliage,decor,ribbon,etc.)
cascades down from that.Some are very full like this one. Others are lighter.
All do well on doors and walls and make a good alternative for a wreath. They
can take up as little space as a wreath or they can be huge. The really big ones
are more costly to box and ship, as is true with big horizontal swags and wreaths.

Horizontal Wall Vase :Horizontal
wall vases are great for over doorways, archways, or openings that you want to
dress up. They're also good over hutches, or bookcases - even over some mantles
and mirrors. | | |
